Reliability You Can Count On

At NEC, delivering safe and reliable electricity is more than just our job — it’s our commitment to the communities we serve. We understand that consistent power is essential to your daily life, and we work tirelessly to minimize interruptions and restore service quickly when outages do occur.

Proactive Right-of-Way Management

One of the key components of our reliability strategy is our comprehensive Right-of-Way (ROW) Program. This program plays a critical role in maintaining system reliability and public safety by managing vegetation growth around our power lines and infrastructure.

Why It Matters:
Trees, overgrown vegetation, and falling branches are the leading causes of power outages, especially during storms and high winds. Our ROW team works year-round to identify and remove potential hazards before they impact your service.

What We Do

  • Routine Tree Trimming: NEC crews conduct regular pruning of trees near power lines to maintain necessary clearances and prevent outages caused by contact with vegetation.

  • Debris Removal: We proactively clear rights-of-way of fallen limbs, trees, and other debris that could damage power lines or impede repair efforts during severe weather events.

  • Herbicide Application: To prevent fast-growing underbrush from interfering with our lines, we use targeted herbicide treatments that promote long-term vegetation control in an environmentally responsible manner.

These efforts not only help reduce the frequency of outages, but also enable our crews to respond and restore service faster when unexpected events occur.
